Whew! After juggling different majors and schools, I found my forever home in the Nicholson School of Communication.
Arriving as a third-year transfer student was nerve-wracking and overwhelming. I was taken aback by the school’s size. But once I learned my way around, I fell in love with it. The school was filled with endless opportunities, incredible people, and cool events I couldn’t miss.
“What are you going to do with a communication major?” “ What’s its purpose?” These were questions I always received and never had the answer to — until now.

Since becoming a communications major, I’ve written press releases, taken on a Project Management role as an intern, and even helped organize an event focused on the 45th anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act!
The Nicholson School of Communication taught me that being a communication major is much more than the obvious. It’s about thriving under pressure, adapting to any project, and ensuring your team is always on the same page.
My journey took an amazing turn when I came across Quotes on Instagram. As a communication major, Quotes molded me into the professional I always dreamed of becoming.
One of my best highlights so far is participating in Intern Pursuit, hosted by Quotes. I initially walked into the event with utmost confidence, but seeing all the well-prepared students and companies dimmed my light.
After stepping out a few times to gather myself, I connected with Ad2Orlando for their Parramore Public Service Project, where I became involved with their company. This was a significant turning point in my career. I was awarded the Most Valuable Volunteer, and I had my first article published! Seeing my name in print for the first time was incredibly fulfilling.

Since joining the Nicholson School of Communication and Quotes, I’ve consistently been a part of life-changing opportunities. As a senior now, I feel my clock ticking, but I’ve never felt more prepared to embrace whatever life has in store for me.
