What is Intern Pursuit? Intern Pursuit is the largest internship fair for communication students hosted by Quotes every semester. We are excited to announce that this Spring 2023 Intern Pursuit, we will be offering film-related internship opportunities as well! Quotes is committed to connecting talented interns with high quality employers and this is the perfect space to do so.
What can I expect the day-of? Employers will be at tables around the Pegasus Ballroom. All you have to do is walk around the room and introduce yourself. Hand over your resume and give a short elevator pitch about yourself. Employers love hearing from you.
How early do I get to Intern Pursuit if I’m a Quotes member? Quotes members get in at 6 pm, but we recommend arriving around 5:50 pm so you can beat the line.
How do I know which employers are attending? Our Employer List will be made live on our website the Monday before Intern Pursuit. Stay tuned on our social media channels for when the list goes live.
What do I wear? Attire is business casual. For women, a blouse with jeans or a skirt, or a dress; for men, a button down shirt and jeans. Light and neutral makeup for women is preferred.
What do I bring? All you have to bring is yourself – and some resumes. We recommend bringing 20 resumes; although colored copies are preferred, we understand not everyone has access to colored printing. You can also bring business cards if you’d like.
What will employers ask? Employers will typically ask questions like: “Tell me a little about yourself,” “When do you graduate?” “Why are you interested in our company?” “What classes are you taking?” “Have you interned before?”
What are some good questions to ask employers? You can ask employers questions like: “What kind of internship do you offer?” “What do an intern’s daily responsibilities look like?” “How many hours a week would you like interns to be at the office?” “What skills could I learn from this internship opportunity?”
How do I prepare for Intern Pursuit? We suggest attending our preparatory events like Resume Workshop and Intern Pursuit Bootcamp. Speakers come in to give some insight on how to build a resume and prepare for Intern Pursuit!
